Now I know what they mean when they say Italy will steal your heart.
Even though I have only been here a few weeks, I feel as if I could live here forever. Florence is so lovely I almost forgot I was here for school and not just vacation. My lover, Nutella, welcomed me to the city with open arms (..or an open jar?).
I had left from Denver, Colorado on January 26th. After airline delays and jumping on last minute flights, I arrived in Firenze. The streets and boulevards were alive with a warm, inviting glow.
While waiting in a Lorenzo de Medici building for orientation I met two nice Californian girls, Sara and Kelsey. Little did I know they would become two of my very best friends this semester! We made plans for dinner that night, which would be the first of many meals and adventures together.
I could write a play-by-play of my time here but I would much rather just share a few beautiful memories and photos, and write about the impact Italy is having on my life.
